Melinda Thompson, OD
Dr. Melinda Thompson has been practicing optometry in the Central Coast area since 2001. She earned her doctorate of Optometry degree from the University of California in Berkeley. As a student in an outreach program, Dr. Thompson traveled to the Dominican Republic to provide much needed eye care. As part of her professional training, Dr. Thompson completed her clinical externship at the Presidio of San Francisco Army Post.
After serving four years as an active duty optometrist in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Thompson followed her now retired husband to various Air Force bases, including an overseas tour. At each location, Dr. Thompson became an active member of the community and provided eye care with local optometrists and ophthalmologists.
Dr. Thompson has earned her certification for the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease in California. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association and the Tri-County Optometric Society. She is a supporter of community activities locally and at Vandenberg Air Force Base. She enjoys the beauty of the Central Coast by cycling the various bicycle trails and joining in cycling events.
